The 2nd Grade tradition of service learning continues for the 11th consecutive year as we plan and prepare for participating in the Festival Of Trees. The theme for this year will be Jingle, Jingle, Jingle.
All students in second grade will make a jingle bell themed ornament to decorate the tree. Each class will make the ornaments during the “Community/Service Learning” Rotation, taught by Miss Chappell.
If you are willing to help us, we are in need of the following:
- Cash donations to purchase the following: garland, tree skirt, tree topper, ribbon, ornament/decorating supplies, etc.
Make checks payable to Eaglecrest Elementary and specify Festival of Trees.
- Jingle Bells, all sizes, silver, gold, red, or brown,
- Black small pom poms
- Silver and green glitter,
- glue sticks
- Wide mouth Jar Lids and Rings
- Small & Large Googly Eyes
- White Cotton Balls
- Red Acrylic Paint “Fire Red”, or “Christmas Red”
- New extension cords (that become part of the donated tree)
- Donations of NEW toys, books, stuffed animals, sports equipment, games, and Christmas themed toys/presents to go under and around the tree. These really help the tree sell!
We appreciate your support and willingness to help out in this effort to teach our second graders the joy of serving in the community, especially during the holiday season.
Gladly accepting donations now through the first week in November.
(They will start making ornaments during September rotation.)
If you have any questions about this project, want to help as we make our ornaments, or help decorate the tree, please contact Miss Chappell at 768-7035 ext. 102 or by e-mail at kchappell@alpine.k12.ut.us
